Yvette Paula Fielding (born 23 September 1968) is a well-known English television presenter, producer, actress, and writer. She is also famous for investigating paranormal activities. In 1987, when she was 18, she became the youngest presenter ever on the BBC children's show Blue Peter. With her husband, Karl Beattie, Yvette created and presented the spooky Most Haunted series. They also made Ghosthunting With..., which made Yvette known as the 'first lady of the paranormal'. She has appeared in many other TV shows, from chat shows to reality competitions like I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.

Early Life and School Days
Yvette Fielding was born in Stockport, England. She grew up in a place called Bramhall. As a child, she went to Pownall Green Primary School and Bramhall High School. She also attended Stockport Convent, Hillcrest Grammar School, and Dane Bank College.
When she was a teenager, Yvette worked different jobs. She cleaned rooms in a hotel in Wilmslow. She also worked as a barmaid in Cheadle Hulme and Macclesfield.
Yvette's Career Journey
Starting Out in Television
Yvette's first big acting role was in 1983. She was cast in a children's BBC series called Seaview. This comedy-drama was about a teenage girl named Sandy Shelton, played by Yvette. Sandy lived with her parents in their guest house in Blackpool. The show was popular and ran for two seasons. Later, Yvette also made a guest appearance in an episode of Juliet Bravo.
Becoming a Blue Peter Star
In 1987, Yvette joined the famous BBC children's show Blue Peter. She started on 29 June 1987, just three months before her 19th birthday. This made her the youngest presenter in Blue Peter's history! While on the show, Yvette also acted in Last of the Summer Wine. She even won the SOS Award for the Most Popular Woman on Television. She was chosen over other famous people like Cilla Black and Kylie Minogue.
Years after Yvette left Blue Peter, viewers voted her trip on a rollercoaster with fellow presenter Mark Curry as their Favourite Blue Peter moment of all time. After five years on Blue Peter, Yvette co-hosted What's Up Doc?. This was a Saturday morning children's show on ITV that ran for three years.
Moving to Shows for Older Audiences
From 1995, Yvette started working on shows for older viewers. After What's Up Doc?, she presented shows like The Heaven and Earth Show, The General, and City Hospital for the BBC. She also hosted Karaoke Challenge and appeared on Challenge TV. Yvette was a guest on the ITV game show Win, Lose or Draw in 1995 and 1996. In 1997, she briefly returned to children's TV. She played Samantha Fuller in two episodes of the CBBC drama Byker Grove.
From 1998 to 2000, Yvette was a regular on a game show called Under Offer. In 2003, she was a guest on the Channel 4 chat show Richard & Judy. In 2004, Yvette was named 'Multichannel personality of the year' at the Variety Club Showbusiness awards. In 2005, she appeared as Annie Lennox in a celebrity special of ITV's Stars in Their Eyes. She was also a guest on Channel 5's The Wright Stuff and the BBC music quiz show Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
In 2007, Yvette was a guest on the ITV chat show Loose Women. She also competed in the ITV2 reality show Deadline, finishing in second place. In January 2008, Yvette was a contestant on the BBC quiz show Celebrity Mastermind. Her special subject was Henry VIII.
Yvette and her husband, Karl, were featured in a documentary called Living With Yvette & Karl in 2008. A follow-up, In Bed with Yvette & Karl, aired in 2009. This show talked about Yvette's recovery from a surgery. A full series of In Bed with Yvette & Karl was then made. In October 2009, another documentary, Yvette & Karl: Life begins at 40, was broadcast. Yvette also appeared on the ITV1 show Saturday Night Takeaway in 2009.
Yvette continued to appear on many popular shows. These included The Paul O'Grady Show, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Britain's Got More Talent, 8 out of 10 Cats, Come Dine with Me, Justin Lee Collins: Good Times, and Eggheads.
Exploring the Paranormal World
In 2002, Yvette and her husband Karl Beattie started their own TV production company, Antix Productions. Their first show was Most Haunted for the British TV channel Living. In this show, Yvette and experts explore places believed to be haunted. They try to find proof of paranormal activity. In 2006, Yvette also presented and produced Ghosthunting With... for ITV2. This show featured Yvette taking celebrities to haunted locations.
Yvette has given many interviews about her paranormal investigations. She appeared on shows like The Sunday Night Project and The Chris Moyles Show. In 2008, Yvette started hosting Yvette Fielding's Fright Nights on Kerrang! Radio. She left a few months later due to other work.
In 2008, Yvette and Karl started a new company called Monster Pictures. This company ran the Paranormal Channel, which was later renamed the Unexplained Channel in 2009. Yvette was the main presenter for this channel. In October 2009, Yvette and Paul O'Grady investigated ghost and vampire stories in Poveglia, Italy, for a documentary called Death in Venice.
Yvette announced in 2010 that she would stop presenting Most Haunted and other paranormal shows. However, in May 2011, she appeared in an episode of Celebrity Ghost Stories for the bio channel. Her company, Antix Productions, produced the entire UK series. In September 2011, Yvette presented another episode of Ghosthunting with... featuring the cast of The Only Way Is Essex.
In April 2012, Yvette appeared in an episode of Olly: Life on Murs with Olly Murs. They visited a haunted house together. In October 2012, Yvette talked about her ghost hunting career on BBC Radio 2 and The Alan Titchmarsh Show. She also said she would return to Most Haunted in 2013. In 2014, Yvette did return to host Most Haunted when a new series was made for the Freeview channel, Really.
In March 2013, Yvette appeared in a comedy sketch for Red Nose Day 2013. In June 2013, she co-hosted Real Radio North West's breakfast show for a short time.
Besides presenting Most Haunted, Yvette also owned a tea shop in Manchester called 'Propertea' until 2016. She then left to start her own tea shop. In 2015, Yvette was featured in an episode of Through the Keyhole, where viewers got a peek inside her home.
In November 2015, Yvette took part in the ITV reality series I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. She finished in tenth place after being voted off on 30 November.
Personal Life
Yvette Fielding lives on a farm in Sandbach, Cheshire, with her second husband, Karl Beattie, and her two children. Yvette has shared that she has vitiligo. This is a skin condition that causes patches of her skin to lose their color.
