Zachry Alexander Brown (born July 31, 1978) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is most famous as the main singer and co-founder of the Zac Brown Band, a popular country music group. He was also part of the electronic dance music group Sir Rosevelt. In 2019, Zac Brown released a pop album called The Controversy.

Growing Up and Early Music
Zac Brown grew up in Georgia, near Lake Lanier. He was one of twelve children. His mother, Bettye, and stepfather, Dr. Jody Moses, raised him.
School Days
Zac went to Mashburn Elementary School and South Forsyth Middle School. He also attended South Forsyth High School. Later, he moved to Dahlonega, Georgia, and finished high school at Lumpkin County High School.
Learning Music
When Zac was 8, his mother gave him a guitar. A patient of his stepfather taught him classical guitar for two years. Soon after, he fell in love with bluegrass music. He played bluegrass with his father and brother on weekend visits. In his mid-teens, a vocal coach from his church helped him with his singing for almost a year.
First Performances
While still in high school, Zac started playing solo shows. He was inspired by the singer James Taylor. Zac performed country and pop cover songs in local places. He went to the University of West Georgia. He was also a camp counselor at Camp Mikell and Camp Glisson. Later, Zac started his own non-profit camp called Camp Southern Ground in Fayetteville, Georgia. This camp helps kids and teens.

Zac Brown has worked on many different projects outside of music.
Music Studio
In 2012, Zac bought a recording studio in Nashville, Tennessee. He completely updated it and named it Southern Ground Nashville. This studio is used by artists on his Southern Ground record label.
Other Appearances
Zac appeared on a TV show called Treehouse Masters in 2016. In 2019, he was part of the charity song "Earth" by Lil Dicky.
Knife Company
Zac Brown also started a company called Southern Grind Knives. This company makes strong, useful knives. It is located in Peachtree City, Georgia.
Personal Life
Zac Brown has a family and has been married.
Family Life
Zac Brown and his wife Shelly ended their 12-year marriage in 2018. They have four daughters and one son together. In August 2023, Zac married model and actress Kelly Yazdi. They separated in December of the same year and decided to divorce.
Since 2024, Zac has been dating jewelry designer Kendra Scott. They announced their engagement in July 2025.
