Zhu Zhu (Chinese: 朱珠; pinyin: Zhū Zhū; born on July 19, 1984) is a talented Chinese actress and singer. She became well-known as a VJ on MTV China, where she hosted music shows.

Early Life and Education

Zhu Zhu was born in Beijing, China, on July 19, 1984. She grew up in a military family. Her grandfather, Zhu Xuzhi, was a major general in the army. Her father, Zhu Hanbin, is a Chinese businessman.

Zhu Zhu started learning to play the piano when she was just three years old. When she was in junior school, she performed in an English play called Beauty and the Beast. She later studied electronics and information engineering at Beijing Technology and Business University.

Personal Life

Zhu Zhu married Wang Yunjia on March 18, 2021. Wang Yunjia is a lecturer at Tsinghua University's Fine Art Department. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Pearl, on September 2, 2021.

Starting in Music and TV

In 2005, Zhu Zhu joined MTV China. She hosted many music programs on the network. She was discovered after winning a local singing contest in Beijing. She then placed third in the national competition.

In 2007, Zhu Zhu signed with a music company called MBOX. She released her first music album in 2009.

Acting in Films

Zhu Zhu started her acting career in 2010. Her first movie was What Women Want. This was a Chinese romantic comedy film. It starred famous actors like Andy Lau and Gong Li.

In 2012, Zhu Zhu appeared in the American martial arts film The Man with the Iron Fists. She played the character Chi Chi. She acted alongside many well-known stars in this movie.

That same year, Zhu Zhu was in several other films. These included Shanghai Calling, Secret Sharer, and the science fiction movie Cloud Atlas.

In 2014, she had a supporting role in the romantic comedy The Old Cinderella. She also played the main female role in the film Last Flight.

Television Series and International Projects

From 2014, Zhu Zhu starred in the American TV series Marco Polo. This show premiered on Netflix in December 2014. She played a main character in the series.

In 2016, Zhu Zhu joined a Bollywood film called Tubelight. She acted opposite the famous Indian actor Salman Khan. This was her first time working in Bollywood. The film was released in 2017.
