- February 27 – A very important agreement called the Treaty of Stolbovo was signed. This treaty officially ended the Ingrian War between two powerful countries: Sweden and Russia. As a result of this peace treaty, Sweden gained control of two areas called Ingria and Kexholm. This changed the map of Europe quite a bit!

- November 17 – There was a naval battle at sea between ships from Sicily and Venice. Neither side won a clear victory, so the battle ended without a definite winner.
- November 22 – A new leader took charge of the Ottoman Empire. Mustafa I became the new Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, taking over from the previous Sultan, Ahmed I. The Ottoman Empire was a very large and powerful empire at this time.
