Examples of common years starting on a Wednesday in the Gregorian calendar include 1975, 1986, 1997, 2003, 2014, and 2025. In the Julian calendar, examples are 2015 and 2026. Even the year 1800 was a common year starting on a Wednesday in the Gregorian calendar.

What is a Common Year?
A common year is a year with 365 days. It is different from a leap year, which has 366 days. Leap years have an extra day in February. This extra day helps keep our calendar lined up with the Earth's orbit around the Sun.
Common Years in the Gregorian Calendar
The Gregorian calendar is the most widely used calendar today. It was introduced in 1582. Many years in this calendar start on a Wednesday. The table below shows some of these years. They are grouped by millennium and century.
These years all share the same calendar pattern. This means that January 1st is a Wednesday, January 2nd is a Thursday, and so on, for the entire year.
