Byzantine Empire Faces Challenges
In 619, Heraclius, who was the emperor of the Byzantine Empire (a powerful empire in the eastern part of the old Roman Empire), thought about moving his capital city. He was planning to leave Constantinople and move the main city to Carthage. This was because his empire was facing many attacks and challenges at the time.
Wars and Victories
A big conflict called the Second Perso-Turkic War took place. This war was fought between the Sasanian Empire (a strong Persian empire) and the Turks. The war ended with a clear victory for the Persian Sasanian Empire.
