Abdulmanap Magomedovich Nurmagomedov (Russian: Абдулманап Магомедович Нурмагомедов; 10 December 1962 – 3 July 2020) was a famous Russian athlete and coach. He was well-known as the father and coach of the retired UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Abdulmanap helped many fighters become world champions.

About Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov was born in 1962 in a village called Sildi in Dagestan. He studied accounting and economics at the Poltava University of Economics and Trade. He had two sons, Magomed and Khabib, and one daughter, Amina.
His Early Life and Training
From a young age, Abdulmanap loved sports. He started with freestyle wrestling, which is a popular sport in Dagestan. Later, when he was serving in the Soviet Army, he began practicing judo and sambo. These are martial arts that combine different fighting styles.
A Champion Coach
Abdulmanap became a very successful coach. His first big coaching win was in 1992. His brother, Nurmagomed Nurmagomedov, won a World Sambo Championship for Ukraine. Over his career, Abdulmanap trained an amazing 18 world champions. In September 2019, he was officially recognized by the Russian Book of Records. He was named the most successful combat sambo coach in Russia.
His Legacy
In April 2020, Abdulmanap became very sick with COVID-19. He was taken to a hospital in Moscow. Sadly, his health got worse, and he passed away on July 3, 2020, at 57 years old. He was buried in his home village the next day. After his father's death, his son Khabib Nurmagomedov decided to retire from mixed martial arts after UFC 254. Abdulmanap's coaching and dedication left a lasting mark on the world of combat sports.

- Sultan Aliev – He won the FIAS Combat Sambo world championship two times. He used to compete in the UFC and Bellator.
