Abrar-ul-Haq (Punjabi: ابرار الحق) is a famous Pakistani singer, songwriter, and a kind-hearted person who helps others (a philanthropist). He has also been involved in politics.
His very first music album, Billo De Ghar, came out in 1995. It sold over 40 million copies around the world! This made him super popular and earned him the nickname "King of Pakistani pop".
Abrar-ul-Haq also started and leads the Sahara for Life Trust. This is a special group that has been giving health services to people in Narowal and nearby areas since 1998. He also ran for a seat in the National Assembly of Pakistan, which is like a big parliament, in the 2018 elections.

Abrar-ul-Haq's Early Life and Education
Abrar-ul-Haq was born in Faisalabad, Punjab. His father worked for the government. Abrar-ul-Haq is the youngest of eight children in his family.
He first went to Junior Model School in Gujrat. Later, he studied at Sir Syed College in Rawalpindi. He then earned a Master's degree in social sciences from Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad.
Teaching Career
For a short time, Abrar-ul-Haq worked as a teacher at Aitchison College in Lahore. However, he soon left teaching to focus on his music career.

Abrar-ul-Haq's first music album was Billo De Ghar. It was released in 1995 and quickly became a huge hit.

Sahara for Life Trust
Abrar-ul-Haq is the Founder and Chairman of Sahara for Life Trust (SLT). He has led this group since it started in 1998. SLT is a private organization that helps with health and education in faraway places. The name SAHARA stands for "Services Aimed at Health and Awakening in Remote Areas".
SLT is a recognized charity in Pakistan, the U.K., and the U.S. It has helped in many disaster relief efforts over the years. In 2003, SLT opened its first big hospital in Narowal, Pakistan. This hospital, called Sughra Shafi Medical Hospital Complex, offers many health services. It has saved lives by making it easier for sick people to get care without traveling far.
Niaz Support
In 2023, Abrar-ul-Haq became a global ambassador for Niaz Support. This group in Pakistan makes special wheelchairs for people with disabilities. They also involve these people in making the wheelchairs, which helps them find jobs.

Abrar-ul-Haq has also been involved in politics and youth programs.
Youth Parliament of Pakistan
In 2006, he started the Youth Parliament of Pakistan (YPP). This program helps young people learn about leadership and community service. It is not linked to any political party or religion.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (2011-2023)
In December 2011, Abrar-ul-Haq joined a political party called Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
In 2012, he became the President of the Youth Wing for this party. The next year, in 2013, he was made the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
He ran for a seat in the National Assembly of Pakistan in the 2013 elections. He got many votes but did not win that time. He ran again in the 2018 elections for the same assembly but also did not win.
In 2019, he was chosen to be the chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society. This organization helps people in need, especially during emergencies.
In 2023, he decided to leave politics.

Awards and Recognition
Abrar-ul-Haq has received several important awards for his work:
- Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Medal of Excellence): He received this award from the President of Pakistan in 2005. It was for his public service, music, and charity work.
- Sitara-e-Eisaar: He received this award in 2006 for his amazing help during the big earthquake in Pakistan in 2005.
- Humanitarian Ambassador of the OIC: In 2011, he was named a special ambassador for helping people by the OIC, a group of many countries.
