College Football Career
Adrian Hubbard was a talented player during his time at the University of Alabama. He was part of a very successful team.
Becoming a Champion
In 2012, Adrian was a "redshirt sophomore." This means he had spent one year practicing with the team without playing in games, which helped him learn and get stronger. That year, he became a key player. He recorded seven sacks, which is when a defensive player tackles the opposing team's quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. One of his sacks happened in the big championship game.
Adrian was a leader for Alabama in several ways:
- He had the most sacks (7).
- He had the most "tackles for loss" (11), meaning he stopped offensive players behind where they started.
- He also caused three "forced fumbles," which is when a player hits the ball carrier and makes them drop the ball.
He was especially good at getting sacks, recording one in each of Alabama's last three games that season. His seven sacks made him one of the top players in his conference. After his junior year in 2013, Adrian decided to try for the professional football league, the NFL.
Playing Professional Football
After college, Adrian Hubbard began his journey in professional football.
Joining the Green Bay Packers
Adrian was not chosen in the main 2014 NFL draft. This is called being "undrafted." However, many talented players still get a chance to play. On May 12, 2014, Adrian signed with the Green Bay Packers, a famous NFL team. This gave him his first opportunity to play professional football.
Playing in Canada
Later, in 2016, Adrian played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. This team is part of the CFL, which is Canada's professional football league.
Other Leagues
Adrian also played in other football leagues. In 2017, he joined The Spring League, which is a league for players looking to get noticed by bigger teams. In October 2019, he was chosen by the Los Angeles Wildcats in the 2020 XFL Draft, another professional football league.
