Early Life and High School Football

Albert Wilson was born in Fort Pierce, Florida. He grew up in foster care and was later adopted by Brian and Rose Bailey in Port St. Lucie, Florida. When he was in tenth grade, he moved in with a cousin to stay at his high school.

Wilson was a talented athlete at Port St. Lucie High School. He played quarterback for the Jaguars football team. In 2010, during his senior year, he was named the Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers All-Area Offensive Player of the Year. That year, he gained 2,631 total yards and scored 22 touchdowns. He also ran track for his high school, competing in races like the 100m and 200m.

College Football Career

Wilson played college football for the Georgia State Panthers from 2010 to 2013. He made history by becoming the first Georgia State player invited to the NFL Combine. This is a special event where college players show off their skills for NFL teams.

During his college career, Wilson gained a total of 6,235 all-purpose yards. This amount ranked him among the top thirty players in NCAA history. He became the Panthers' all-time leading scorer with 26 touchdowns. Wilson also set records for most catches (175) and receiving yards (3,190) in Georgia State history. He was also excellent at returning kicks and punts, setting school records for both. He even had the longest reception (93 yards) and longest kickoff return (100 yards) in school history.

His amazing performance earned him several awards. He was named First-team All-Sun Belt in 2013. He also received honors as a kick returner and wide receiver in the CAA in 2012.

Professional Football Journey

Playing for the Kansas City Chiefs

After not being chosen in the 2014 NFL draft, Wilson signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on May 11, 2014. He joined the team as an undrafted free agent. He made his first NFL appearance on September 7, 2014.

In his first season, he caught 16 passes for 260 yards. By 2015, he became the Chiefs' third-best receiver. He had 35 catches for 451 yards and two touchdowns. The Chiefs had a great season, making it to the 2015–16 NFL playoffs. Wilson also scored a touchdown in the playoffs that year.

In 2016, Wilson continued to contribute to the Chiefs. He had 31 catches for 279 yards and two receiving touchdowns. He also scored one touchdown by running with the ball. Time with the Miami Dolphins

On March 15, 2018, Wilson signed a three-year contract with the Miami Dolphins. He quickly made an impact. In one game, he threw a 52-yard touchdown pass to a teammate on a special trick play. In another game, he had a career-high 155 receiving yards and two touchdowns. This amazing performance earned him the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award.

Unfortunately, he suffered a hip injury in October 2018. He finished that season with 26 catches for 391 yards and four touchdowns. In 2019, he played in 13 games, catching 43 passes for 351 yards and one touchdown.

In 2020, Wilson chose not to play in the NFL season. This was due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic. He returned to play for the Dolphins in 2021, appearing in 14 games.

Later Career and Retirement

In 2022, Wilson signed with the Minnesota Vikings but was released before the season started. He later joined the practice squad of the Las Vegas Raiders and was briefly on their active roster.
