Alessia's Journey in High Jump

Setting New Records

On January 20, 2013, Alessia set a new personal best. She jumped 1.98 meters in Udine, Italy. This was the third-best jump ever by an Italian woman at that time! Only Antonietta Di Martino (2.04 m) and Sara Simeoni (2.01 m) had jumped higher.

Just nine days later, Alessia made an even bigger jump. She became the third Italian woman to clear 2.00 meters! This was the best jump in the world for 2013 at that moment. Because of her amazing performance, she was named the European Athlete of the Month for January by the European Athletic Association.

In August 2013, Alessia competed in her first World Championships. She jumped 1.93 meters in the final without any mistakes. She tried to jump 1.97 meters but didn't make it. She finished in 7th place, which was still a great achievement for her first World Championships.
