Ali Jaber (Arabic: علي جابر) was born in 1961. He is a famous Lebanese journalist and TV personality. He is also the Group TV Director for MBC. MBC is the biggest satellite TV network in the Arab world.

Ali Jaber's Education and Leadership
Ali Jaber studied business at the American University of Beirut in 1984. Later, he earned a master's degree in communications from Syracuse University in the US in 1986.
Starting a Communication School
In 2008, a leader named Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum asked Ali Jaber to create a new communication school. This school is at the American University in Dubai. Ali Jaber became the Dean of this school, called the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Communication (MBRSC).
The MBRSC helps students learn about journalism and digital storytelling. It's special because it teaches media writing in Arabic. It also focuses on digital media and telling stories across many platforms.
Important Roles and Recognition
Ali Jaber is also on the board of directors for two important groups. These are the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) and Young Arab Leaders (YAL). These groups work on big projects to help people.
He was also named one of the "500 Most Influential Muslims in the world." This shows how important his work is.
In 2011, Ali Jaber spoke at the TEDxBeirut conference. He talked about "The Global Classroom." This was a new idea he started at the American University in Dubai. It lets students connect with top professors and business leaders from all over the world.
Ali Jaber's Career in Media
After finishing his studies, Ali Jaber returned to Beirut. He helped start the Broadcasting Department at Beirut University College. For eight years, he taught many courses about making television shows.
Building TV Channels
As a journalist in Beirut, Ali Jaber interviewed Rafik Hariri in 1992. Hariri later became the prime minister of Lebanon. Hariri then asked Ali Jaber to create Future TV. This was a private TV station that is still on air today. Ali Jaber managed Future TV until 2003. He also started and ran a channel for young people called Zen TV.
In 2004, the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, asked Ali Jaber for help. He wanted Ali Jaber to improve and relaunch the TV channels of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI).
By 2006, Ali Jaber had successfully built and managed seven channels for DMI. These included Dubai TV, Dubai One, and several sports channels. He became DMI's Managing Editor. His job grew to include helping the media industry in the UAE.
Leading MBC and Arabs Got Talent
Since 2011, Ali Jaber has been the Group TV Director of MBC. He is in charge of MBC's 13 television channels.
He is also a well-known judge on MBC's popular show, Arabs Got Talent. Many people compare his judging style to Simon Cowell's. Because of the show's popularity, Ali Jaber became a household name in the region.
In 2014, Ali Jaber was named a board member of The Dubai Council for Design and Fashion. This council works to make Dubai a world leader in design and fashion.
Ali Jaber as a Journalist
Ali Jaber worked as a journalist covering important events. He reported on the war in Lebanon and the Iraq between 1987 and 1999. He was a correspondent for The New York Times and The Times of London. He was also the main correspondent for Lebanon and Syria for the German Press Agency (DPA).
Volunteer Work
During the civil war in Lebanon, Ali Jaber volunteered for the Red Cross. He has also volunteered for many years with a Lebanese group that helps children with mental disabilities. Today, he is an ambassador for SANAD, a group that provides home care for sick people in Lebanon.
