Almost Alice is a special music album released in 2010. It features songs from many different artists. This album was inspired by Tim Burton's movie, Alice in Wonderland.
What makes this album cool is that some songs are based on actual quotes from Lewis Carroll's original book, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. For example, "The Lobster Quadrille" by Franz Ferdinand uses words directly from a poem in the book. Another song, "You Are Old, Father William" by They Might Be Giants, also uses words from a poem Alice says in the story.
There's also a song called "Very Good Advice" by Robert Smith. This is a new version of a song from Disney's old animated movie from 1951.
The album was released by Buena Vista Records on March 2, 2010. It quickly became popular. It reached number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States.
The first main song from the album was "Alice" by Avril Lavigne. You can hear this song during the end credits of the Alice in Wonderland movie. It was the only song from the album that was actually in the film. It first played on the radio on January 27, 2010.
The second main song was "Tea Party" by a singer named Kerli. Later, on June 1, 2010, a special deluxe version of the album was released on iTunes. There was also a special edition with extra songs sold at Hot Topic stores.
