Alvin Sims was born on October 18, 1974. He is an American former professional basketball player. Sims played as a shooting guard and small forward. He even played for the Phoenix Suns in the National Basketball Association (NBA) during the 1998–99 season.
College Career
Alvin Sims went to Paris High School in Paris, Kentucky. There, he played high school basketball. After high school, Sims played college basketball for the University of Louisville. He was part of their men's team, the Louisville Cardinals. He played for them from 1993 to 1997. In his third year, he scored about 12 points per game.
Professional Career
Sims started his professional basketball journey in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He played for a team called the Quad City Thunder. In 1998, he was named the CBA Rookie of the Year. This award goes to the best new player in the league.
Because of his great play, Sims got a chance to play for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA. The NBA is the biggest basketball league in the world. He played four games with the Suns and scored a total of 11 points. He left the team in May 1999.
Alvin Sims also played basketball in many other countries. He played professionally in places like Venezuela, Greece, Italy, France, the UK, Lebanon, Austria, Iran, and Cyprus.
