Amroha is a lively city in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. It is located north-west of Moradabad, close to the Ganga River. Amroha is also the main office for the Amroha district.

Geography and Climate
Amroha is found north-west of Moradabad, near the Sot River. The city is about 130 kilometers away from Delhi. This means Amroha's weather is quite similar to Delhi's. The city has different areas and blocks. The climate here is like other parts of Western Uttar Pradesh. Summers are hot and dry. Winters are cold and dry.
People and Population
Amroha is a city with many people. In 2011, about 198,471 people lived here. About 14% of the total population were children aged 0 to 6 years old. For every 1000 boys, there were about 925 girls. This is higher than the state average. The city also has a good number of people who can read and write. About 62.4% of people aged 7 and above are literate. This means they can read and write. More men are literate than women.
Economy and Industries
Amroha is famous for its delicious mangoes. The city also has many different industries. People here work with cotton and textiles. They make cotton cloth and weave things by hand. Pottery making is also important. There are sugar mills too. Other smaller industries include making carpets. People also create beautiful wood handicrafts. Amroha is well-known for making dholaks, which are traditional Indian drums.
Getting Around: Connectivity
Amroha is very well connected to New Delhi, the capital of India. You can travel by train or by road. The Amroha railway station is on the Delhi-Moradabad train line. Many passenger and express trains stop here. This railway line was built a long time ago. Amroha is also close to NH 24. This is a big four-lane highway. It connects New Delhi to Lucknow.
Interesting Places to Visit
Amroha has several interesting places to see. There is the Vasudev Temple for Hindu visitors.
One very special place is the Dargah Shah Wilayat. This is the resting place of a Sufi saint named Syed Husain Sharaf-ud-din Soharwardi Naqvi. People from all over India visit this holy place. The Sufi saint came to Amroha from Iraq in the 13th century. It is believed that scorpions never sting anyone at his resting place. This makes it a very unique and safe spot!
