In 2005, he was loaned to FC Barcelona, a famous club from his hometown. He mostly played for their reserve team, Barcelona B. On May 20, 2006, Andrea played his first and only game for Barcelona's main team. This was in a La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao. Barcelona had already won the league title that season.
Time with Swansea City
In September 2007, Andrea Orlandi joined Swansea City in the United Kingdom. He signed a one-year contract with the club. His fellow Spaniard, Roberto Martínez, was the manager at Swansea City.
