Andreas Weimann (born on August 5, 1991) is an Austrian professional footballer. He plays as a forward or attacking midfielder. Currently, he plays for Derby County and the Austria national team.
Andreas joined Aston Villa when he was sixteen. He came from Rapid Wien. He played 129 games for Aston Villa and scored 24 goals. In 2015, he moved to Derby County. He also played on loan for Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017.
In July 2018, Weimann signed with Bristol City. He spent six years there. During his time at Bristol City, he also had a loan spell at West Bromwich Albion in early 2024. In August 2024, he joined Blackburn Rovers for one season. In July 2025, Weimann returned to Derby County.
He first played for Austria's senior national team in 2012. He has played over 20 international games for his country.

Andreas Weimann started his football journey in his hometown of Vienna. He first played for FC Stadlau. When he was thirteen, he joined Rapid Wien. He played there for three years.
Time at Aston Villa
After playing for Rapid Wien, Andreas was signed by Premier League club Aston Villa. He joined the club with another Austrian player, Dominik Hofbauer. Andreas still supports Rapid Wien, his former club.
Early Days at Villa
Andreas played for Aston Villa in the 2009 Peace Cup. He played against big teams like Juventus and Porto. He was a key player for Aston Villa's Reserve team. In the 2009–10 season, he was the top scorer in the Reserve South League with nine goals. He signed a contract to stay with the club until June 2012.
In May 2010, Andreas was considered for the main team. He impressed the manager, Martin O'Neill. He also helped Aston Villa win the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens tournament. He scored three goals in one game during that tournament.
Andreas played his first official game for Aston Villa on August 14, 2010. He came on as a substitute against West Ham United. A few days later, he played in the UEFA Europa League against his old club, Rapid Wien. He got injured in that game and was out until January 2011. When he returned, he scored two goals in his first reserve game.
Loan Spells at Watford
On January 19, 2011, Andreas joined Football League Championship club Watford on loan. He played his first game for Watford ten days later in the FA Cup. He scored his first league goal for Watford on February 1 against Crystal Palace. He played 19 games for Watford and scored 4 goals.
Andreas returned to Aston Villa for the 2011–12 season. He played in a League Cup game against Hereford United. On August 26, he signed a new contract with Aston Villa until 2014. However, he went back to Watford on another loan deal. He played three more games for Watford before being called back early due to injuries at Aston Villa.
Back at Aston Villa
After returning to Aston Villa, Andreas quickly rejoined the team. On March 10, 2012, he scored his first goal for Villa. It was a late goal in the 92nd minute against Fulham, giving Villa a 1–0 win.
On November 10, 2012, Andreas scored two goals against Manchester United. He received a standing ovation from the fans. In December, he scored two more goals against Norwich City in the League Cup. This helped Villa reach the semi-finals. A few days later, he scored again against Liverpool in a 3–1 win. He also scored in the League Cup semi-final against Bradford City. Villa lost the semi-final, but Andreas finished the season with 12 goals in 38 games.
Andreas started scoring goals in the 2013–14 season on August 28, 2013. He scored a long-range shot against Rotherham United in the League Cup. His next goal was a winning goal against Manchester City. On May 3, 2014, he scored two goals against Hull City. This win helped Aston Villa stay in the Premier League. In the 2014–15 season, he scored the only goal in the first game against Stoke City. He also scored in an FA Cup game against Bournemouth.
Time at Derby County
On June 18, 2015, Andreas joined Derby County. He signed a four-year contract. He scored his first goal for Derby County on October 31 in a 3–0 win against Rotherham United.
In January 2017, Andreas joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan. He made his debut two days later. On January 28, he scored his first goal for Wolves in an FA Cup win against Liverpool.
Time at Bristol City
On July 3, 2018, Andreas signed with Bristol City. He signed a three-year contract. On March 30, 2019, he scored his first career hat-trick (three goals in one game). This happened when Bristol City beat Sheffield United 3–2. This was the first hat-trick scored by a Bristol City player away from home in a long time.
On October 24, 2020, Andreas suffered a serious knee injury. He was out of action for many months. He had a fantastic 2021–22 season, scoring 22 league goals. This was his best goal-scoring season ever. On January 15, 2024, Andreas joined West Bromwich Albion on loan. He scored his first goal for West Brom on February 3, a late winning goal against Birmingham City. Andreas left Bristol City when his contract ended in the summer of 2024.
Time at Blackburn Rovers
On August 1, 2024, Andreas Weimann joined Blackburn Rovers. He signed a one-year deal. He scored his first goal for the club on his very first game. It was in a 4–2 win over Derby County.
Return to Derby County
On July 1, 2025, Andreas Weimann returned to Derby County. He signed a one-year contract with the Championship team.
International Career

Andreas Weimann played for Austria at different youth levels. He played for the Under-17, Under-19, and Under-21 teams. He scored a goal in his first game for the Under-21 team in 2009.
In July 2010, Andreas was called up to the Austria U-19 squad. He played in all three of Austria's games in the 2010 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
On October 12, 2012, Andreas made his debut for the Austria senior team. This was in a game against Kazakhstan. In March 2022, Andreas was called back to the Austria senior team after seven years. On June 10, 2022, he scored his first international goal for Austria against France. This goal gave Austria the lead in a UEFA Nations League game that ended in a 1–1 draw.
