While she was in high school, she helped students organize. They wanted a Black History class at their school. Their efforts were successful, and the class was added. They were against labor unions. Also, Scott Walker became Wisconsin's Governor. Angela Walker was very active in the Occupy movement, which her union supported. She left her union leadership role in October 2013. Walker worked as a bus driver for more than 14 years. Today, she works as a dump truck driver.
