Angela Zhang (born 19 January 1982), also known as Angela Chang, is a famous singer and actress from Taiwan. She also has Canadian citizenship.
Angela first became well-known for her roles in Taiwanese TV shows like My MVP Valentine (2002) and At Dolphin Bay (2003). After her first music album, Over the Rainbow, became a big hit in 2004, she started focusing more on singing. She released popular albums such as Aurora (2004) and Pandora (2006). She also starred in another popular TV show, Romantic Princess (2007). Later, she faced some challenges in her career. However, she made a strong comeback in 2018 on the TV show Singer 2018, where she was both a host and a contestant. Since then, she has mostly worked in mainland China.

Early Life and Moving Around
Angela Zhang was born in Zhongli, Taoyuan, Taiwan. Her family belongs to the Hakka group, which is a special cultural group in Asia. She is the oldest of three children. She has a sister named Connie and a brother named Carson. Angela's grandfather on her mother's side was from the Uyghur people, and the rest of her family is Hakka.
When she was ten years old, Angela moved to Singapore to study. But after a few months, she returned to Taiwan because she found it hard to get used to life there. At age 12, she and her family moved to Vancouver, Canada. There, she went to Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School. She moved back to Taiwan when she was 19.
Her Career as a Star
Angela Zhang became famous after playing a main character in the Taiwanese TV show My MVP Valentine. She acted alongside the Taiwanese boy band 5566. After that, she had another main role in the TV show At Dolphin Bay with actor Wallace Huo. She also sang the ending song for that show, called "Yi Shi De Mei Hao," and an English song called "Journey."
Angela has been nominated for "Best Actress" twice at the Golden Bell Awards, which are like the Emmys for TV in Taiwan. She has also been nominated twice for "Best Mandarin Female Singer" at the Golden Melody Awards, which are like the Grammys for music in Taiwan. In 2010, Angela became a spokesperson for the Shanghai Expo 2010 and sang its theme song, "The Window of the City." She also performed at the first Formula 1 Festival in Shanghai.
