Angela Zhang Shao-han (traditional Chinese: 張韶涵; simplified Chinese: 张韶涵; pinyin: Zhāng Shàohán), also known as Angela Chang, is a popular singer and actress from Taiwan and Canada. She was born on January 19, 1982.
Angela became well-known for her roles in Taiwanese TV shows like My MVP Valentine (2002) and At Dolphin Bay (2003). After her first music album, Over the Rainbow, became a big hit in 2004, she focused more on singing. She released other popular albums such as Aurora (2004) and Pandora (2006). She also starred in another successful TV drama, Romantic Princess (2007).
Angela took a break from her career around 2008. She made a big comeback on the Hunan TV show Singer 2018, where she was both a host and a contestant. Since then, she has mostly focused on her career in mainland China. She has had seven concert tours, including three stadium tours. Her Fable World Tour (2019–2024) had 36 shows and was seen by over one million people.

Angela's Early Life
Angela Zhang was born in Zhongli, Taoyuan, Taiwan. She is the oldest of three children in her family. She has a sister named Connie and a brother named Carson.
When Angela was ten, she moved to Singapore to study. However, she returned to Taiwan after a few months because she found it hard to get used to life there. At age 12, she and her family moved to Vancouver, Canada. She went to Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School there. She moved back to Taiwan when she was 19 years old.
Angela's Career Journey
Starting Her Career (2002-2007)
Angela Zhang became famous in 2002. She played a main character in the Taiwanese TV show My MVP Valentine with the boy band 5566. After that, she had another main role in the TV drama At Dolphin Bay with actor Wallace Huo. In this show, she also sang the ending songs "The Beautiful Days We Lost" and "Journey."
Angela signed with Linfair Records to start her music career. She released her first two albums, Over the Rainbow and Aurora, in 2004. Her third album, Pandora, came out in 2006.
In 2007, Angela released two more albums: Flower in the Wonderland and Ang 5.0. She also starred in the TV drama Romantic Princess and sang its theme song, "Don't Want to Understand."
Career Break and Comeback (2008-2012)
Angela took a break from her career in early 2008 to get medical treatment in Canada. In June 2008, she was a torchbearer for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She was the first person from Taiwan to do this.
Angela released her sixth album, The 5th Season, in 2009. In 2010, she became a spokesperson for the Shanghai Expo 2010 and sang its theme song, "The Window of the City." She also performed at the first Formula 1 Festival in Shanghai.
In 2012, Angela and her younger sister started a new talent agency called Tianhan Music. Angela then continued her career, focusing on the music market in mainland China.

In 2008, Angela was diagnosed with a heart condition called mitral valve prolapse. She went to Canada for medical treatment and took a short break from her busy career.
