Angri is a town and comune (which means municipality) in southern Italy. It is located in the province of Salerno, within the Campania region. Angri is about 15 miles (24 km) northwest of the city of Salerno.

History of Angri
Angri has a long and interesting history. In the year 553 AD, a famous battle took place near Angri. The Byzantine general Narses defeated Teias, who was the last king of the Goths. This was an important event in the history of Italy.
In the 1800s, Angri was home to about 10,000 people. The land around the city was very good for farming. Farmers grew lots of grapes, tobacco, and cotton there.
Angri is also known as the hometown of Blessed Alfonso Maria Fusco. He was a Roman Catholic priest who helped many people. His special day, or feast, is celebrated on February 6.
Geography and Climate
Angri is located in a fertile area called the Agro Nocerino Sarnese. This region is close to the famous Mount Vesuvius. Angri is also at the base of the Lattari Mountains. It sits in the heart of the Sarno Valley, which is one of the most fertile areas in all of Italy.
Angri's Climate
The weather in Angri is generally mild. This is because it is close to the sea. Summers are often warm, with daytime temperatures usually in the low to mid 30s Celsius (around 86-95 degrees Fahrenheit). Winters can have heavy rain, sometimes with moderate winds. It rarely gets cold enough for frost or snow in Angri.

Angri has several interesting places to visit. You can explore the old Castle and the Doria's Palace. The town park is also a nice spot, which used to be the garden of the palace.

Getting Around Angri

The city also has its own railway station, called Angri station. From here, you can easily travel by train to bigger cities like Naples and Salerno.
