Ardooie is a town and a municipality in the Belgian province of West Flanders. It's a place where about 9,147 people lived in 2006. The municipality includes the main town of Ardooie and another town called Koolskamp. People who live here are called Ardooienaren.
During World War I, a notable historical figure stayed in Ardooie. He lived with a family and painted some of the local buildings and countryside scenes.

What to See in Ardooie
Ardooie has some interesting places to visit:
- St. Martin's Church (Sint-Martinuskerk): This church has a beautiful Gothic tower. It has been a protected national monument since 1939.
- The de Mûelenaere mansion: This old house is now used as a library.
- Ardooie Castle: Also known as the De Jonghe d'Ardoye Castle, this grand house was built in the late 1700s. It was built by the Van Ardooie family, who owned land in the area. The castle became a protected historical monument in 1984. Today, it's a private building that houses a communication agency.

Parts of Ardooie
Besides the main town of Ardooie, the municipality also includes Koolskamp. There's also a small area called De Tassche, which is about two kilometers west of Ardooie's center. It's located near the city of Roeselare. In the east, close to the town of Meulebeke, you'll find part of another small area called 't Veld, also known as de Sneppe.

Getting Around Ardooie
The E403 motorway runs through the western part of Ardooie. It has two exits for the area: exit 8 for Ardooie itself and exit 9 for Koolskamp. On the other side of the town, the N50 district road connects Bruges to Kortrijk. The Rysselende Mill is located along this road.
The railway line from Adinkerke to Ghent separates Ardooie from Koolskamp. Until the mid-1980s, Ardooie had two train stations.
Businesses in Ardooie
Even though Ardooie is a small town, many companies have their main offices here. It's especially famous for its frozen vegetable factories. There are seven of them, which is the most for any single municipality in Europe!
