This range stretches from southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico all the way south to Jalisco in Mexico. You can find it in states like Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango, and Sinaloa. There is even one group of these trees living far away in Tamaulipas.

The Arizona madrone is a tall tree. It can grow up to 45 ft (14 m), which is about as tall as a four-story building! Its bark has a pretty pinkish-brown color. The tree also produces small fruits. These fruits are orange-red and look like berries.
