The Bourg-en-Bresse arrondissement shares its borders with other areas. To the northwest, it's next to the Saône-et-Loire department. To the northeast, it borders the Jura department. On its west side, you'll find the Nantua and Belley arrondissements. Finally, to the southwest, it's next to the Rhône department.
