What the Screeching Frog Looks Like
These frogs are quite small.
- Male frogs are about 20 to 26 millimeters (0.8 to 1.0 inches) long.

Where the Screeching Frog Lives
The Arthroleptis poecilonotus likes to live in forests. It especially likes areas where new plants are growing. You can often find it in clearings in the forest. It also lives along forest paths. Sometimes, you can even find these frogs in towns and villages.
How the Screeching Frog Reproduces
This frog has a special way of having babies. Unlike many frogs, it does not lay its eggs in water. Instead, it lays its eggs on the ground. The baby frogs, called larvae, grow inside the eggs. They do not go through a tadpole stage in water. Instead, they develop directly into tiny froglets. This means they hatch as small versions of adult frogs.
Is the Screeching Frog Safe?
The Arthroleptis poecilonotus is a very common frog. It is not facing any big dangers right now. It lives in many different places. Scientists believe there are many of these frogs in total. Some of them live in protected areas, like national parks. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has looked at its situation. They have decided its conservation status is "least concern". This means it is not threatened with extinction.
