Arturo Lupoli (born June 24, 1987) is a former Italian football player. He played as a forward for many clubs, including famous teams like Parma, Arsenal, and Derby County. He was known for scoring lots of goals, especially when he was a young player. His last club was Borgo San Donnino.

Club Career

Playing for Parma

Arturo Lupoli started his football journey at Parma in Italy. When he was playing for the Under-17 team, he scored an amazing 45 goals in just 22 games. This was one of the best scoring records ever in Italian youth football history. In 2004, his contract with Parma ended. He then signed with Arsenal, a big club in England. Arsenal paid Parma about £200,000 as a training fee for him.

Time at Arsenal

Arturo Lupoli made his first appearance for Arsenal's main team on October 27, 2004. This was in a League Cup match against Manchester City. In his next League Cup game against Everton, he scored his first two goals for Arsenal, helping them win 3–1.

During the 2004–05 season, he was Arsenal's top scorer for their youth and reserve teams. He scored 27 goals in 32 games. That year, he also played in an FA Cup match. Arsenal went on to win the FA Cup, but Arturo was not in the final squad.

In the 2005–06 season, he continued to score many goals for the youth and reserve teams. He also played in the League Cup again, where he won the "New Talent Award." He scored his third and final goal for Arsenal in a 3–0 win against Reading. He made his only league appearance for Arsenal that season in a game against Blackburn.

Loan to Derby County

On August 18, 2006, Arturo Lupoli joined Derby County on a loan deal for the whole season. He played his first game for Derby the very next day. He scored two goals against Colchester United. On January 6, 2007, Arturo scored three goals in one game (a hat-trick) for Derby County. This was the first hat-trick for the club in over ten years. It happened in an FA Cup match against Wrexham, which Derby won 3–1.

Later, Arturo decided to sign a pre-contract with Fiorentina, an Italian club. Even though he was moving to a new team, he promised to do his best for Derby for the rest of the season. In his first game after this announcement, he scored a goal and helped set up another.

Moving to Fiorentina

Arturo Lupoli officially joined Fiorentina on July 1, 2007. He signed a five-year contract with them for free. However, he never actually played a game for Fiorentina. Instead, he was sent on loan to other clubs. First, he went to Treviso for a period.

On July 22, 2008, Arturo moved back to England. He joined Norwich City on a loan deal for the 2008–09 season. The manager of Norwich City, Glenn Roeder, knew Arsenal's manager, Arsène Wenger, which helped with this move.

Playing for Norwich City

Arturo was very happy to join Norwich City. He told the club's website that he felt the manager really wanted him there. He knew about Norwich City because they had been in the Premier League before. He wore the number 18 shirt.

He made his first game for Norwich against Coventry City. His first goals for the club came on August 23, 2008, against Cardiff City. He scored two late goals, helping Norwich come back from two goals down to draw 2–2.

After a while, Arturo wasn't playing as much as he wanted. He said he would leave the club in January if he didn't get more chances to play. In the next game, an FA Cup match against Charlton Athletic, he came off the bench and scored an important goal. Fans had been cheering his name during the match. However, because he was still frustrated about not playing enough, his loan ended on February 2, 2009.

Loan to Sheffield United

On February 2, 2009, Arturo Lupoli joined Sheffield United on loan until the end of the 2008–09 season. He played his first game for them a few days later in a local derby match against Sheffield Wednesday. He scored a goal just five minutes into the game. Even though he scored, Sheffield United lost the match. He wanted to stay at Sheffield United longer, but he returned to Fiorentina after the season ended. He played eleven games for Sheffield United and scored two goals.
