Asian Swimming Championships facts for kids
The Asian Swimming Championships is a big sports event where top swimmers and other water athletes from countries all over Asia compete. It happens every four years. The organization in charge of these championships is called Asia Aquatics. The most recent championships took place in 2016 in Tokyo, Japan. The next one is planned for 2025 in Ahmedabad, India.

Championship Records
At each Asian Swimming Championships, athletes try to swim faster than anyone before them. When they do, they set a new "championship record." These records are for races held in a long-course (50-meter) swimming pool. Many amazing swimmers from countries like China, Japan, and South Korea have set records in different events over the years.
Men's Records
Some of the fastest times for men in various swimming styles and distances were set by athletes like Sun Yang from China in long-distance freestyle, and Xu Jiayu from China in backstroke events. Japanese swimmers like Ippei Watanabe also hold records in breaststroke.
Women's Records
For women, swimmers such as Rikako Ikee from Japan have set records in freestyle and butterfly. Chinese swimmers like Fu Yuanhui in backstroke and Chen Huijia in breaststroke have also achieved championship records.
