The Asian Weightlifting Championships is a big sports event. It's where the best weightlifters from countries across Asia compete. The Asian Weightlifting Federation organizes this exciting championship.
Men have been competing in these championships since 1969. Women joined the competition later, starting in 1988. These championships are very important. For example, in 2008, they helped decide which Asian athletes could go to the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
