History of Aubin Grove

Aubin Grove used to be part of a larger rural area called Banjup. The suburb is named after Henry John Aubin. He leased land in this area back in 1897.

It is believed that Aubin's leased land, Lot 212, looked very similar to the Aubin Grove we know today. His land was next to Lyon Road and Gibbs Road. It also shared a border with land owned by James Hammond. That land later became Hammond Park.

Important Roads in Aubin Grove

Some roads in Aubin Grove are named after early landowners.

Lyon Road

This is the main road in Aubin Grove. It connects the suburb to important roads that lead to the Kwinana Freeway. Lyon Road is named after John McMurray Lyon, who owned land in this area.

Gaebler Road

Gaebler Road is Aubin Grove's second major road. It links the suburb to its neighbour, Banjup. The road is named after Waldemar Gaebler, a German migrant. He asked for this road to be developed because its continuation, Oxley Road, was next to his property.
