Ault is a small town located in Weld County, Colorado, USA. In 2020, about 1,887 people lived there. This was a good increase from 2010. Ault is part of the larger Greeley area and the Front Range Urban Corridor.

Discovering Ault's Past
Ault was first called High Land. Its name changed to Burgdorff Siding, also known as Bergdorf Switch. This name honored a railroad worker. The Ault, Colorado, post office opened in 1898.
How Ault Got Its Name
The town was named after Alexander Ault. He owned a flour mill in Fort Collins, Colorado. Mr. Ault helped the local farmers during a tough economic time. He bought all their grain harvest, which saved them from financial trouble. The town of Berdorf officially became a town in 1901. It was renamed the Town of Ault in 1904.
Railroad and Land
Much of Ault's residential area and nearby farms sit on land given by the United States government. This land was given to the Union Pacific Railroad. The railroad sold the land to help pay for building train tracks. A north-south train line connecting Denver, Colorado, and Cheyenne, Wyoming, runs through Ault. It runs next to U.S. Highway 85.
A Unique Project
In 1910, a rabbi from Denver bought 640 acres (2.6 km2) of land near Ault. He planned to hire Jewish farmers and use the land for a special charity project. However, this project did not grow much. After a few decades, there were no Jewish residents left in the town.

Ault is located at 40°35′2″N 104°44′1″W. It sits where U.S. Highway 85 and State Highway 14 meet.
In 2020, the town covered a total area of about 4.476 square kilometers (1.728 sq mi). All of this area is land.

- Ault's only high school is Highland High School. It used to be called "Ault High School." In 1963, it joined with schools from nearby towns like Pierce, Nunn, and Carr. The name "Highland" comes from the high plains where the school is located. Highland High School's mascot is the Husky.
- Ault was once considered for a special emergency radio tower. This tower would have been part of a system to warn people about attacks. However, this system was never fully built, and the tower in Ault was not constructed.
