Aurora Peak is a mountain peak located in Olympic National Park. This park is found in Clallam County, Washington, in the United States. It is the highest point on a long stretch of mountains called Aurora Ridge.

Aurora Peak is a tall mountain in the beautiful Olympic Mountains. It stands over 4,754 feet (1,449 meters) high. This peak is a special part of the Olympic National Park.

Aurora Peak is located in the northwestern part of Washington state. It is inside the famous Olympic National Park. The peak is in Clallam County.

What is Aurora Ridge?

Aurora Peak is the highest point along a mountain range called Aurora Ridge. This ridge has a very steep side facing north. This northern side looks down over the large and pretty Lake Crescent. On the southern side, the ridge rises high above the Sol Duc River.

Other peaks on Aurora Ridge include Sourdough Mountain and Lizard Head Peak. To the east, this same ridge is known as Happy Lake Ridge.

Exploring the Aurora Ridge Trail

There is a hiking path called the Aurora Ridge Trail. This trail follows along the top of the ridge. It offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

  • The trail is about 15.1 miles long.
  • It is considered a moderate to difficult hike.
  • The trail goes from an elevation of about 1,300 feet up to 4,800 feet.

The park rangers say that some parts of this trail can be hard to follow. Hikers should be careful and prepared.
