Avranches is a town in France, located in the Manche department. It's part of the Lower Normandy region in the northwest of the country. Avranches is also a subprefecture, which means it's an important administrative center for the area. People who live here are called Avranchinais.

Where is Avranches?
Avranches is located in the southern part of the Cotentin Peninsula. The town is built on high ground, which gives it great views.
From Avranches, you can look out over the sandy dunes and marshes along the bay. You can even see the famous Mont Saint-Michel from here!
