A Look Back in Time
Baileyton was started in 1870 by a farmer named Robert Bailey. He came from Georgia. A few years later, in 1883, the town got its own post office. This made it easier for people to send and receive mail. Baileyton officially became a town in 1973. This means it got its own local government.

The town is northeast of the city of Cullman. It is along State Route 69. Its border reaches northeast to State Route 67. The town of Fairview is just west along State Route 69. The Joppa community is across State Route 67 to the northeast.
