The Bankstown Bites Food Festival started in 2005. The Bankstown City Council created this yearly event. It usually takes place in July. Around 10,000 people visit the festival each year.
What Happens at the Festival?
The festival is packed with cool things to do. You can watch chefs cook amazing dishes. There are also live shows and tours to local food shops. Kids can enjoy special activities just for them. Of course, there are lots of food stalls where you can taste yummy treats!

Local chefs also join in to show off the great food from the area. Both local and celebrity chefs help create a special Bankstown Bites Recipe Book each year.

During the festival, you can go on "Discovery Food Tours." These tours have different themes. For example, you can explore Asian Explorer foods or European Delights. There are also tours for Aboriginal bush tucker food and Treats from the Middle East.
