That same year, Karl Lagerfeld chose Baptiste to be the main male model for Chanel. He walked in many important fashion shows for Chanel in 2009 and 2010. He also appeared in ads for Schwarzkopf hair products and the car company Volkswagen. Baptiste was also the face for Karl Lagerfeld's perfumes, watches, and eyeglasses. Personal Life
Baptiste Giabiconi was known as the "muse" of fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld starting in 2008. Baptiste was only 18 at the time. In a book he wrote in 2020 called Karl et moi (Karl and me), Baptiste shared details about their special bond. He described their relationship as being like a father and son, full of strong affection. He said that Karl Lagerfeld even thought about adopting him.
Karl Lagerfeld also left money in his will for his cat, Choupette. This cat was originally Baptiste's. Baptiste had left Choupette with Karl Lagerfeld for a few days, and Karl grew to love the cat so much that Baptiste gave Choupette to him as a gift.
In 2020, Baptiste mentioned in a TV interview that he was one of seven people named in Karl Lagerfeld's will. However, some people close to Lagerfeld's family have said this might not be true.
