Barbie and the Three Musketeers is an animated fantasy film from 2009. It's the 16th movie in the popular Barbie film series. This movie was released on September 15, 2009. It tells a fun story based on the classic book The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. In the film, Kelly Sheridan voices Corinne d'Artagnan, who is played by Barbie.

Story of the Movie

The story takes place in France during the 1600s. Corinne, a 17-year-old girl, dreams of becoming a Musketeer. Her father was a brave Musketeer, and she wants to follow in his footsteps. Even her kitten, Miette, dreams of being a "mus-cat-eer"!

Corinne travels to Paris, but becoming a Musketeer isn't easy for a girl. People make fun of her, especially Prince Louis's cousin, Phillippe. Phillippe's dog, Brutus, causes trouble for Corinne. She tries to meet Monsieur Treville, the Musketeer captain, but he tells her she isn't ready.

Corinne ends up getting a job as a palace maid. She meets three other maids: Aramina, Viveca, and Renee. They become good friends. One day, a chandelier almost falls on Prince Louis. Corinne and her new friends show off some amazing moves to protect themselves. Corinne finds a small red gem near the cut rope of the chandelier. She realizes someone tried to hurt the Prince!

Corinne shares her dream of being a Musketeer with her friends. To her surprise, they all have the same secret dream! An older maid named Helen overhears them. She takes them to a secret training room. Helen agrees to train the four girls to become true Musketeers. They work hard and learn many new skills.

One day, Corinne helps Prince Louis when his hot-air balloon gets into trouble. They start to like each other. Corinne notices the balloon's rope was also cut, just like the chandelier's. This makes her realize the Prince is in danger. Helen warns the girls to be careful and watch out for enemies. Miette, Corinne's kitten, even joins their training!

One night, the girls are walking in the city. They see some men led by a person called Regent. Corinne sees that Regent has a knife that matches the gem she found. They discover that Regent and his men are planning to harm Prince Louis at a masquerade ball. Their goal is to make Phillippe the new king.

The girls try to warn Monsieur Treville, but no one believes them. They are even banned from the castle! So, they put on disguises and sneak into the ball. Corinne dances with the Prince, who doesn't recognize her. The bad guys capture Treville and the other Musketeers. They attack the girls and chase Prince Louis to the rooftops.

Corinne and her friends fight bravely. They free Treville and the other Musketeers. Corinne saves Prince Louis just in time! Phillippe, Regent, Brutus, and their men are arrested. Corinne and Louis make up. On the day he becomes king, Prince Louis names Corinne, Viveca, Aramina, and Renee as royal Musketeers! Helen takes over Madame de Bosse's job, and Madame de Bosse becomes a maid as punishment. Corinne's mother is very proud. The movie ends with the four friends riding off to their next adventure, saying, "All for one, and One for all!"

A video game based on the movie was released for the Wii, Nintendo DS, and Microsoft Windows. Activision published the game, and WayForward Technologies developed it.

It's a 2D platformer game where you play as Corinne. Later, you can also play as Renée, Viveca, and Aramina. Each character has their own special abilities. The game has 15 levels that generally follow the movie's story. Scenes from the movie are used as cutscenes between levels.

In each level, you can collect 100 coins. These coins can be used in a shop run by Viveca. At the shop, you can buy extra clothes for the characters to wear. You can also unlock screenshots from the movie to view in a gallery. The Wii and Windows versions of the game have better graphics and music than the Nintendo DS version. The game's director wanted the fighting moves to look like dancing, just like in the movie.
