Exploring Barbon Village
Barbon is a place with a bit of history and some exciting events. It was once the childhood home of a poet named Catherine Grace Godwin. She lived in the village and passed away here in 1845.
Barbon Manor Speed Hillclimb
One of the most exciting things about Barbon is the Barbon Manor Speed Hillclimb. This is a special car racing event. It happens three times a year, usually in May, June, and July. The races take place on a private driveway that goes through Barbon Manor Park. The Shuttleworth Estate kindly allows this event to happen.
The Barbon Inn
In the heart of the village, you'll find The Barbon Inn. This building has a long history. It was built in the 1600s as a coaching inn. A coaching inn was a place where horse-drawn coaches would stop for the night. Travelers could rest, eat, and change horses. Today, The Barbon Inn is a hotel, pub, and restaurant.
