Bassem Morsy's Football Journey
Bassem Morsy has played for several football clubs throughout his career, showing his skills as a forward.
Early Career and First Steps
Bassem started his professional journey with Petrojet. He played 13 matches and scored 4 goals for them. After four years, his coach at Petrojet decided to end his contract.
In 2013, Bassem joined El Entag El Harby, a military club. He quickly became a key player for the team. Even though he scored nine goals in the league, his team was moved down to a lower division, the Egyptian Second Division, at the end of that season.
Shining at Zamalek
On July 2, 2014, Bassem Morsy signed with one of Egypt's biggest football clubs, Zamalek. He scored his first goal for Zamalek on October 25, 2014, against Smouha in the Egyptian Premier League.
Bassem achieved a special milestone on July 15, 2015, when he scored his first hat-trick (three goals in one match) for Zamalek against Al Nasr. In his very first season with Zamalek, he helped them win the Egyptian Premier League title. He was the top goalscorer for his club that season with 18 goals.
He also helped Zamalek win the Egypt Cup multiple times. In one final match against their big rival, Al Ahly, he scored two goals to secure the cup for Zamalek. He repeated this amazing feat in the next season, scoring two more goals against Al Ahly to win the cup again.
Moving to New Teams
After his successful time at Zamalek, Bassem Morsy went on loan to other clubs. He played for AEL in Greece and then for Smouha back in Egypt.
Later, he returned to El Entag El Harby for a few more seasons. He then played for El Makkasa and Ceramica Cleopatra. Since 2022, Bassem has been playing for Ismaily. In 2023, he also had a loan spell at National Bank of Egypt.
Playing for His Country
Bassem Morsy was first called to play for the Egyptian national team in 2014. His first international match was a friendly game against Jamaica on June 4, 2014. He came into the game as a substitute and scored his first goal for Egypt, making the score 2–2.
When he scored, Bassem celebrated by pointing to his shirt number 15 and drawing a heart in the air. He did this to dedicate the goal to his injured teammate, Gedo, who used to celebrate in the same way and wore the same shirt number.
