Bedford High School is a public school located in Bedford, Ohio. This city is southeast of Cleveland. The school teaches students from ninth to twelfth grade.
About Bedford High School
Bedford High School first opened its doors in 1957. Later, new parts were added in 1971 and 1994. The school is officially recognized by the Ohio Department of Education. This means it meets high standards for learning.
For many years, Bedford High School was next to St. Peter Chanel High School. Both schools were built around the same time in the 1950s. They were also rivals in sports. Because both schools won many championships, a part of Northfield Road was even renamed the "Avenue of Champions."
The school building has a special look. It was built between 1955 and 1957. The style is called Norman Brick, and it uses limestone. In 1971, two new sections were added. These parts are connected to the main building by glass walkways. The school's football field, Bearcat Stadium, opened in 1994.
In the past, the school was set up to be a safe place for people during emergencies. It had underground passages.
