Beechford is a small, quiet beach village in Tasmania, Australia. It's located on the northern coast, about 22 kilometers northeast of George Town. In 2016, about 90 people lived there. It's a beautiful spot where the Curries River meets the Bass Strait.
Beechford is surrounded by farms and protected natural areas. This means you can enjoy amazing sea views. It has a warm, dry climate and stunning beaches. It's still a bit of a secret, so visitors can enjoy the area without big crowds.
Years ago, Beechford was a busier town with its own small shop. That shop closed in the mid-1980s. Now, there are no stores in Beechford. The closest shops are in George Town.

Fun things to do at Beechford Beach
You can get to the beach by a small sand path or a footbridge. The white sandy beach is great for many activities.

- No Vehicles on the Beach: You are not allowed to drive cars or other vehicles on the beach. The only exception is if you are launching or taking out a boat.
- Rules and Fines: Breaking these rules can lead to big fines. These rules help keep the beach beautiful and safe for everyone.
- Park Rangers: A Parks and Wildlife ranger watches over the beach and coastline. They make sure everyone follows the rules.
How to get to Beechford
You can find the turnoff to Beechford from the Georgetown to Bridport Road. This road goes through Lefroy. Lefroy was once an important gold mining area in Tasmania.
Another way is to take Dalrymple Road (C809) from the East Tamar Highway (A8). Or, you can turn east from A8 just before Hillwood onto Bullocks Head Road. This road leads to the Bridport Highway, which then connects to the Beechford turnoff. Beechford is located just south of the military training area called Stony Head.
History of Beechford
Beechford officially became a recognized place in 1966. A post office opened in Beechford in 1966, but it closed a few years later in 1970.
Where is Beechford?
The northern edge of Beechford is bordered by the waters of Bass Strait. The Curries River forms the eastern boundary of the area.
Roads in Beechford
Route C807, also known as Beechford Road, comes into the area from the southeast. It runs all the way to the village in the northeast, where it ends.
