Belvidere (pronounced BEL-vid-eer) is a small town located in Buffalo County, in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. In 2010, the population of Belvidere was 396 people. A smaller, unincorporated community called Herold is also part of the town.
Where is Belvidere?
Belvidere is in the western part of Buffalo County. Its western border follows the main channel of the Mississippi River. This river also forms the state boundary between Wisconsin and Minnesota.
The city of Alma is just to the northwest of Belvidere. The city of Buffalo City and the village of Cochrane are located along Belvidere's southwest border.
The town covers a total area of about 89.2 square kilometers (about 34.4 square miles). Most of this area, 83.5 square kilometers (32.2 square miles), is land. The remaining 5.6 square kilometers (2.2 square miles), or about 6.33%, is water.
