History of Belview
Belview got its name from the French words meaning "beautiful view." A post office opened here in 1887. The city was officially planned out, or platted, in 1889. This means its streets and lots were mapped out. Belview became an official city in 1893.
Geography of Belview
Belview is located in Minnesota. It covers an area of about 0.95 square miles (2.37 square kilometers). All of this area is land. There are no large lakes or rivers within the city limits.
Roads and Connections
Belview is easy to find because it sits at the crossing of two main roads:
- County Road 7: This road goes north and south. It connects Belview to Sacred Heart in the north. To the south, it leads to Seaforth.
- County Road 9: This road runs east and west. It connects Belview to Delhi in the east. In the west, it leads to Echo.
Two state highways, Highway 19 and Highway 67, are just a few miles south of Belview. They meet County Road 7 there.
