Ben Price (born 30 June 1971) is an English actor, director, and writer. He is well-known for playing Nick Tilsley in the popular ITV show Coronation Street. Ben has also directed and written four films. His first film, I'm Sorry To Tell You, was even considered for a BAFTA award!

Ben Price's Early Life and Education
Ben Price grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. He went to Gosforth East Middle School and Gosforth High School. He started acting classes at the Live Theatre.
Later, he moved to London to study acting at the Drama Centre. He then graduated from the Central School of Speech and Drama in 1996.
Ben Price's Acting and Directing Career
Ben Price began his acting journey in theatre. He performed at famous places like the Manchester Royal Exchange and the Bush in London.
Early TV Roles
His first TV appearance was in 1996 on the show Casualty. After that, he had guest roles in other TV series. These included Soldier Soldier, Heartbeat, and Peak Practice. He even appeared in an episode of the Australian soap opera Home and Away when they filmed in England in 1998.
Becoming a TV Star
After starring in Wire in the Blood, Ben played Conrad Gates. Conrad was the captain of a football team in the British TV series Footballers' Wives. He left the show after its fourth season.
Ben also co-starred in the horror film Blood Trails. This movie won an award at the Dead by Dawn International Horror Film Festival in 2006.
He returned to Casualty from 2005 to 2007. There, he played Nathan Spencer, a corporate director. A magazine called Stage and Screen even named him one of the top ten actors likely to succeed in Hollywood!
In 2009, Ben appeared in the third season of The Tudors. He played a historical figure named John Lambert.
Coronation Street Role
Ben Price joined Coronation Street as Nick Tilsley in 2009. He started filming in October 2009 and first appeared on screen in December 2009.
He took a break from the show in 2017. However, it was announced in 2018 that he would return to Coronation Street later that year. He has been a regular on the show for many years, appearing in over 1,000 episodes!
Directing and Writing Films
Ben has also made a name for himself as a director and writer. His first four films have been shown at over 60 international film festivals. Many of these festivals are important for BAFTA or Academy Award nominations.
His first short film, "I'm Sorry To Tell You", was shortlisted for a BAFTA award. His second film, "Taubman", was shown at the Oscar-qualifying Athens Film Festival. His latest film, "Hope Dies Last", is supported by the British Film Council. In 2020, he filmed "3 Minutes of Silence", which has also gained international recognition.
Podcast
Ben Price also has a podcast called "On the Sofa with Colson, Jack and Ben". He hosts it with his Coronation Street co-stars Jack P. Shepherd and Colson Smith.
Ben Price's Personal Life
Ben Price married Alexandra Wheeler in 2005. They have two children together. Ben is a big fan of the football team Newcastle United.
