Bera Bach is a mountain peak located in the beautiful Carneddau mountain range in north Wales. It stands tall at 807 metres (about 2,648 feet) above sea level. This mountain is part of a long ridge that stretches west from a peak called Garnedd Uchaf.
The very top of Bera Bach is a rocky outcrop known as a 'tor'. These tors are a common and cool feature of the northern Carneddau mountains. Bera Bach and its nearby peak, Bera Mawr, are together known as "the Berau." This name means 'ricks' or 'stacks' in Welsh, which describes their stacked, rocky appearance. Interestingly, even though Bach means 'small' in Welsh, Bera Bach is actually taller than Bera Mawr (where Mawr means 'big').
Exploring Bera Bach
Bera Bach is a popular spot for hikers and adventurers. It offers amazing views of the surrounding Snowdonia landscape. The ridge it sits on continues further west towards another peak called Drosgl.
How to Climb Bera Bach
There are a couple of main ways to reach the summit of Bera Bach. One popular route starts from the beautiful Aber Falls, a famous waterfall in the area. Another way to climb Bera Bach is to begin your journey from the town of Bethesda. This route often takes you past other interesting spots like Gyrn Wigau and Drosgl before you reach Bera Bach.
