William Kopp is an American artist who brings cartoon characters to life! Born on April 17, 1962, he is famous for being an animator, a writer for cartoons, and a voice actor. You might have heard his voice or seen shows he helped create.

Bill Kopp's Creative Journey
Learning to Animate
Bill Kopp studied animation at a special school called the California Institute of the Arts. He was very good at it! In 1984, he won an award for his animated short film called Mr. Gloom. The next year, in 1985, he won another big award for his film Observational Hazard. These awards showed he was a rising star in animation.
Bringing Characters to Life
Bill Kopp has worked on many cartoons you might know. He helped animate the funny "Whammy" characters on the old game show Press Your Luck. He also voiced the main character, Eek, on the popular cartoon Eek! The Cat. He even voiced Kutter in The Terrible Thunderlizards, a show he helped create.
He also lent his voice to the famous cat, Tom, in two Tom and Jerry movies: Tom and Jerry: Blast Off to Mars and Tom and Jerry: The Fast and the Furry.
Behind the Scenes
Bill Kopp was an animator for the very first "The Simpsons" shorts that appeared on The Tracey Ullman Show. He also created his own cartoon shows like The Shnookums and Meat Funny Cartoon Show and Mad Jack the Pirate.
He was a writer and producer for Toonsylvania. He also helped produce and direct many Tom and Jerry cartoons. Bill Kopp even wrote for other cartoons like Hare and Loathing in Las Vegas. He helped with the stories for three "Roger Rabbit" short films: Tummy Trouble, Roller Coaster Rabbit, and Trail Mix-Up. He also wrote and directed the final episode of Tales from the Crypt called "The Third Pig."
Directing and Voice Acting Today
Bill Kopp directed most of the episodes for The Twisted Whiskers Show. More recently, you can hear his voice on Cartoon Network's Mighty Magiswords. He voices a character called Man Fish the Fish Man, along with many other characters like Eel, Boot, and Monster Toupee.
He also voiced Marnie in an episode of Amphibia in 2019. Bill Kopp lives in California and continues to work in animation and voice acting.
