Woodruff has worked with many famous musicians. He directed nine music videos for the singer Joe and ten for Toni Braxton. He was the director for some of Braxton's biggest hit songs, including "Un-Break My Heart", "You're Makin' Me High", and "He Wasn't Man Enough".

Woodruff later said that Beyoncé was actually the first choice, but she was too busy with her music tour. Honey was a big success at the box office, opening at #2 in the United States.
