Black Oak is a small town in Craighead County, Arkansas, in the United States. In 2020, about 233 people lived there. It is part of the larger Jonesboro, Arkansas area.

Geography of Black Oak
Black Oak is located in the eastern part of Craighead County. It is about 20 miles (32 km) east of Jonesboro, which is the county seat. The town is also about 4 miles (6 km) south of Monette.
The town covers a total area of about 0.4 square miles (1.0 km²). All of this area is land. There is no water within the town limits.
Nature Around Black Oak
Black Oak is in a natural area called the St. Francis Lowlands. This area is mostly flat and used for farming today. You can still see some unique land features here. These include sand blows and sunken lands. They were formed by big earthquakes in 1811 and 1812.
Many rivers and streams in this area have been straightened. This has changed the natural homes for many water animals and plants. The St. Francis Sunken Lands Wildlife Management Area is west of Black Oak. It helps protect some of the original forests that used to cover this region.
