Blakely is a city in Georgia, United States. It's the main town, or county seat, of Early County. In 2020, about 5,371 people lived there. Blakely is known as the "Peanut Capital of the World." You can find it right on U.S. Route 27. It is located almost exactly halfway between two bigger cities: Columbus and Tallahassee, Florida.

History of Blakely
Blakely was planned out in 1825. It was chosen to be the county seat for Early County. The city was named after Johnston Blakeley. He was an important officer during the War of 1812.
