Bohemia Mountain is a cool mountain in the Cascade Range in Oregon, USA. It's part of the Umpqua National Forest. The mountain stands tall at about 5,994 feet (1,827 meters) high.
You can hike a trail that goes all the way to the top. On a clear day, from a spot east of the trail, you might even see Mount Shasta and Mount Hood. These are other famous peaks in the Cascades! Lots of colorful wildflowers bloom here from late June to mid-August. They attract many beautiful butterflies. You can also go camping in the area.

Bohemia Mountain is a peak in the Cascade Range mountain chain. It is located in Lane County, Oregon, within the Umpqua National Forest. The mountain is a popular spot for hiking and enjoying nature.

Bohemia Mountain has an interesting past, especially because of a nearby ghost town.
The Ghost Town of Bohemia City
Right near the mountain's hiking trails is a ghost town called Bohemia City. A ghost town is a place where people used to live and work, but now it's mostly empty. You can still see a few old buildings and some mining tools left behind. This town once had saloons, hotels, and homes.
Gold Rush in Bohemia
The area around Bohemia Mountain was once known as the Bohemia mining district. It got its name from a Czech immigrant named James "Bohemia" Johnson. In 1863, he found gold in the area! This discovery led to a gold mine and the settlement of Bohemia City in 1866. People came from all over hoping to strike it rich.

The weather on Bohemia Mountain is special because of where it is. It's in the Pacific Northwest and high up in the Cascade Mountains.
Winter and Summer on the Mountain
Winters on Bohemia Mountain are cool, but not super cold. It usually stays above freezing. Summers have warm afternoons, but the nights get cool. Temperatures can drop to around 40°F (4°C).
When Spring Arrives
Because of these summer temperatures, spring arrives a bit later here. It can be as late as the end of June! The weather stays warm enough for plants to keep growing into September.
Unique Climate Type
Bohemia Mountain has a rare type of climate. It's either a dry-summer subarctic climate or a cold-summer Mediterranean climate. This means it has cool summers and dry periods.
