A Look Back: Blendon Township's History
Blendon Township was officially started in 1854. It got its name from the Blendon Lumber Company. This company owned a lot of the land in the area when the township was formed.

There are no big cities or towns with their own governments inside Blendon Township. Instead, there are smaller, unincorporated communities. These include Blendon, North Blendon, Borculo, and Bauer.
- Bauer was established in 1880.
- Borculo was started in 1867 by Jackus Klamderman. He named it after his hometown, Borculo in the Netherlands. Many of the first people to settle here were from the Netherlands.
