Bowers, also known as Bowers Beach, is a small town in Kent County, Delaware, United States. It is part of the larger Dover metropolitan area. In 2020, about 278 people lived here. This charming town is known for its beautiful beaches along the Delaware Bay.

History of Bowers
Bowers Beach was first settled a very long time ago, in the late 1600s. It was originally called Whitwell's Delight. Over the years, the land changed hands many times.
In 1734, a man named John Bowers bought the land. This is how the area along the Delaware Bay became known as Bowers Beach. The land stayed in the Bowers family for a while.
By the 1800s, Joseph Wood owned many properties in Bowers Beach. Later, these properties were sold to different people.
Bowers became an official town on March 9, 1907. It was reincorporated as the Town of Bowers in 1962.
For a long time, Bowers Beach was a very important fishing town. Many boats would dock here. Today, people still visit Bowers Beach for fun activities. You can go fishing, swimming, or watch birds. It's also a great place for kayaking and sailing.
Two important places in Bowers Beach are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These are the Fourteen Foot Bank Light and the Saxton United Methodist Church.
